Ok so I need some advice...to Facebook or not to Facebook. I have been lurking around on it with my sisters login (tx Candi-pants). And while I do see the point of connecting with friends and family, what do you do after you have connected? Chat back and forth on what to me seems like an open email for the world to see? Or do you just snoop into peoples lives? I kinda feel it is a little snoopy. Do I really need to know what my old friend from Junior high had for dinner? Or what Aunt Joan scored on some random quiz? Then again I do see the pluses, I would like to see who has kids now, who married who and there are some people I would love to find on FB and go out to lunch with. I am stumped.
I like my blog cause in my humble opinion it's a fun nice way to brag about your kids or just let friends and family know whats going on in your world in your own terms. So I am asking for your opinions my fellow friends in the blogging world.....to Facebook or not to Facebook???

I agree with you completely. I just haven't really found the value in Facebook yet, but people seem to love it and practically live on it.
You can always do what I do - Have an account and accept people's invitations when they want to connect with you, but only check it occasionally and use it for your own purposes. It's kind of handy when trying to plan get togethers using the email function.
That's my 2 cents.
I vote no. If you really wanted to still talk to someone you would. Otherwise you just spend a couple hours typing and reading until you remember why you lost contact in the first place.
That and it's nerdy. But mostly you could totally be making me something to eat while I watch Star Wars instead of FaceBooking.
Or the Princess Leia Bikini. We can all agree on that.
You obviously are interested enough to snoop, so I suggest sign up and make the point to find out if it's worth it or not YOURSELF. Some people like it, others don't.
YOU make the choice.
Hey charity, can you email me your address to sarahross1010@hotmail.com. Thanks, and you should facebook, it is fun!!!
Hey also, if you can get on to Lindsay's blog can you tell her to add me, sarahross10101@hotmail.com. Thanks,
I'd do what Aimee suggested. Get on FB, check it when you want, accept friend requests if you want and have fun with it, if it grows on ya! :)
I personally love it. My Dads side of the family is HUGE. I'm talkin' like 100 cousins. A lot of them are out of town and some live close. But for me, it's so fun to see what they are up to. Especially if they don't have blogs I can still see their cute families.
People from high school is another story. I catch up with people I want to SEE IN PERSON on a regular basis. It's still fun to catch up I guess.
Plus there's a ton of people on it from the ward. You get the 411 on what's up. :)
Want me to send you an invite? :) Of course you don't actually need a invite but I can send you one. :D
...ok, novel.
Facebook is weird for me. There are people I have accepted as friends and I wonder why I do because I could really care less on what they are doing. I have hardly posted any pictures on there and I don't write anything personal on there. I do like it because a lot of our friends in Utah are on it and we can stay in touch that way. You can write people personal e-mails through it which I like. Try it out for a little bit. You can always delete your account if you don't want it. Say hi to all of your kids for me!
So my thought is if you do it don't except people you could care less about. I kept getting invites from high school people I didn't even hang out with or like for that matter. I don't except people just so I can get a high number, that is just lame. I wouldn't put personal stuff about yourself and only put pictures on if you want to. It is fun when you find friends you haven't talked to forever because they moved or whatever. I have found some of my good friends that I lost contact with, so with that its fun. Anyway, good luck with your decision and its true, if you don't like it you can delete it.

looks like you made your mind up toots!
